i wonder how painful it was for God
to rip the wings from his most beautiful child
and let him fall

i wonder if he held Lucifer’s wings
and hugged them to remind him of the angel
he once was
the angel he crafted to perfection

i wonder if he gave them to another seraph
and forgot all about the disappointment that came 
before him

i wonder if God thinks of the Devil
and feels remorse
maybe he still feels connected

to his one and only
how painful it must be to give 
yourself to one,
and watch them self-destruct
